Are You Tracking Your Keywords?

When it comes to keyword tracking - working out which keywords are responsible for your conversions - there are now many different options available.

You can get a Google Adwords, Yahoo or MSN pixel put on the thank you page of the offer you’re promoting even if its not your thank you page. This is isn’t foolproof as pixel tracking doesn’t always track all conversions - it depends on where the pixel is put on the page, load time etc. It can also be a nuisance if you are promoting many different offers, especially in the beginning when you’re testing and don’t know if an offer is a keeper.

Clickbank: Wire Transfers For All!

Posted on timeJuly 15th, 2008 by userEditor in catUncategorized    flagNo Comments

Clickbank have offered wire transfers for international affiliates for a couple of months so that’s not exactly new news. But they’ve now made it easy to apply for. Before you had to send an email and hope they got it and implemented it. Something I tried but didn’t have any luck with.

Tip for Changing Web Hosts

Posted on timeJune 30th, 2008 by userEditor in catUncategorized    flagNo Comments

I changed over to a VPS hosting package with SLHost a couple of months back from a shared hosting account on Hostgator. Hostgator weren’t very helpful so there was a bit of messing around by SLHost but eventually it was all sorted and everything seemed to be working fine.

What I didn’t take into consideration was all the software I had installed on my different sites would need re-configuring because SLHost works around 777 file permissions and Hostgator around 755. I knew I needed to use a different install version of some software but didn’t consider anything else.

Proxies: Exhausted of Trying to Find Ones That Work?

One of the great things about PPC marketing is promoting products in any country that has an world wide web connection and a pool of ready buyers.  Sometimes though offers, especially CPA (cost per action) offers, have IP filtering to block out viewing by countries other than the country the offer is set up for.  So a US targeted offer is unable to be viewed by someone in Canada or the UK.  And vice versa, an offer aimed at the UK isn’t usually viewable outside the UK.

Easy Ways to Build Links

Posted on timeMay 2nd, 2008 by userEditor in catReviews    flagNo Comments

As established in the last post, building inbound links is important for your quality score when developing a website to promote products via PPC advertising. It not only looks more natural but makes your site stand out from the many other thin, only for PPC type sites around. I’ve also noticed with my own sites that they’re less prone to get Google slapped when they have solid content and a number of inbound links.

But you don’t want to spend a lot of time building links right? Afterall if you wanted to play that game you’d be focussing more on SEO techniques rather than PPC.
